MUI Goku dogging Jiren gave me the hype but for none of the reasons Freeza did. I liked Goku vs Jiren because Goku was winning. I liked Goku vs Freeza because Freeza was losing. Jiren had no reason for me to route against him other than being an opposition.

So in a tournament setting where "giving up" is a thing and in their fight of ideals goku won, but in an actual life or death fight goku would have lost. So obviously MUI goku beat Jiren in episode 130 of the anime, but in the manga Jiren outperformed Goku in his MUI form and ended up beating him….
