Son Goku ( 孫 そん 悟 ご 空 くう Son Gokū), born Kakarot (カカロットKakarotto), is a Saiyan raised on Earth and the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. He is the second born, as well as youngest son and child of Bardock and Gine, the husband of Chi-Chi, and the father of Gohan and Goten.
Goku is 12 years old in Dragon Ball when he first meets Bulma in Age 749. Dragon Ball took place over a seven-year period ending Age 756. This would make Goku 19 years old when he defeats Piccolo Jr at the end of the original Dragon Ball anime series.
