I've also made sure to delete all of the BOMs that may have been referencing the other views and there are no external references in the needed subassembly. Is there any way to break the references to the old main assembly and components? It's not that big of a deal - I can still accomplish the drawing the way it is.

In SW 2012 when I tried this process it doesn't work. I open the new drawing, it says that it is referencing the new model, and when I right-click on a drawing view it opens up the new model but the drawing views all show the old model. Please note: I have no 'old' view references in the view palatte.

I have tried rolling back the drawing but it can only be rolled back to version 1 which still has the reference. I cannot delete the drawing as we have a finite set of numbers that is assigned by EPDM. For example, a part has 2 configurations (and accordingly 2 drawings), but only one of them is used in the assembly. " IEdmReference7 ::GetFirstParentPosition2" will return both drawings! In the "where used" tab there is an indication if a specific configuration is used in the drawing, I marked it in the attached picture ("sheet1").
