The Boltzmann brain thought experiment suggests that it might be more likely for a single brain to spontaneously form in space, complete with a memory of having existed in our universe, rather than for the entire universe to come about in the manner cosmologists think it actually did.

19 de oct. de 2023 · A brain randomly existing out of nowhere in a dead universe (high entropy universe) containing memories of an entire life. A life that never actually was and is as artificial as its thoughts. This idea was called the Boltzmann Brain. Let’s try to understand it in this way.
The problem with Boltzmann brains is this: If the universe continues to exist forever, and if it reaches universal thermal equilibrium at some point, then the overwhelming majority of brains in the history of the universe will be Boltzmann brains.
The idea of a Boltzmann brain emerges from two observations. First, that even extremely unlikely events happen if you wait long enough, and second, any mechanism which produced the universe must be capable of producing a human observer since, clearly, we exist.
