There's stuff in guides, there's stuff in literally every game, if you went through 5 and 5 royal and you still don't see anything impressive you've missed major cosmology statements as well.

From what I've understood, a Trickster is a Persona User who can own multiple Personae and they are chosen to protect the world. In Joker's case, he can talk to shadows to own them in a certain way, so he can adapt very easily.
