En este libro, se introdujo por primera vez el concepto de “química”, haciendo que esta naciera oficialmente como ciencia respetada y separada de la alquimia.

Although skeptical of elements and convinced of alchemy, Boyle played a key part in elevating the "sacred art" as an independent, fundamental and philosophical discipline.

2 de may. de 2024 · In the mid 1600’s, Robert Boyle studied the relationship between the pressure and the volume of a confined gas held at a constant temperature. Boyle observed that the product of the pressure and volume are observed to be nearly constant. The product of pressure and volume is exactly a constant for an ideal gas: pV = constant p V = constant.
7 de may. de 2024 · 1670 – Sir Robert Boyle performed an experiment with a viper in a vacuum. A bubble was observed in its eye and it displayed signs of extreme discomfort. This was the first recorded description of decompression sickness. [2]
