Matthew Stewart, 4th Earl of Lennox[1] (21 September 1516 – 4 September 1571) was a leader of the Catholic nobility in Scotland. He was the paternal grandfather of King James VI of Scotland and I of England.

Matthew Stuart, 4th Earl of Lennox was born on 21 September 1516 in Dumbarton Castle. He was the son of John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Lennox and Lady Elizabeth Stewart. He married Lady Margaret Douglas, daughter of Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus and Lady Margaret Tudor, on 6 July 1544 in St. James's Palace, St. James's, London, England.

Malcolm, 4th Earl of Lennox ( Scottish Gaelic Maol Choluim I, Earl of Lennox, † around 1303), was a Scottish magnate. He was probably still a minor when he inherited the Mormaerdom (Earldom) of Lennox from his grandfather Maldouen (Scottish Gaelic Maol Domhnaich ), who was last documented on March 12, 1251 .
