English. Winner of Best Live Action Short Film, A Boy and His Dog tells the story about Eleven year old Davy Allen, whose father recently passed making Davy the proverbial man of the house. One day, he forms a bond with an old hound dog named Buck which leaves Davy to believe Buck is mistreated by his owner and takes Buck in as his own dog.

11 year old Davy discovers that a chained gentle dog, Buck, is badly wounded around the neck because of the thick, tight collar he is made to constantly wear by his unfeeling owner. When Buck comes through the fence and becomes stuck, Davy removes the collar. Even though the boy tells him to stay in his owner’s yard, the dog follows him home. Cast.
