Government. v. t. e. The 1821 Alabama gubernatorial election was held on August 6, 1821, to elect the third governor of Alabama. Democratic-Republican candidate Israel Pickens defeated fellow Democratic-Republican candidate Henry H. Chambers with 57.43% of the vote.
Odessa pogroms. Members of the Jewish Labour Bund with bodies of their comrades killed in Odessa during the Russian Revolution of 1905. A series of pogroms against Jews in the city of Odessa, Ukraine, then part of the Russian Empire, took place during the 19th and early 20th centuries. They occurred in 1821, 1859, 1871, 1881 and 1905.
