Thu Dec 01, 2022 7:29 pm. going from vlog to rec709 with a color space transform node does exactly the same thing as doing it the color management way. However, doing it all with nodes, groups, etc, i found that it gives more flexibility and gives me more control over things like graphics, text, etc.
Hace 5 días · Apparently ACES 2.0 is around the corner with some big improvements. That might make me reconsider using ACES instead of Davinci Color management. I've seen some of the improvements should be more neutral and invertible Output Transforms, IDT guidelines etc. ACES said last year to expect 2.0 in early 2022 but that obviously didn't happen.
Hace 4 días · The preferred ACES workflow for VFX is ACES (linear AP0) EXRs out of vfx but if you have to cut corners I think you can also encode back to the camera's log space or use ACEScc (log AP1) as log space and save that to ProRes 10/12bit.
