In Wien lebte Elisabeth nicht nur mit ihren Eltern, sondern auch mit ihrer Tante, Prinzessin Eleonore Schwarzenberg und ihrem Onkel, Fürst Joseph Schwarzenberg, dem letzte Oberhaupt ihrer Familie.In den Jahren nach 1945 gelang es Elisabeth’s Vater, die Rückgabe der von der Gestapo 1940 in Österrich und Deuschland beshlagnahmten Besitzungen von Fürst Adolph Schwarzenberg zu erreichen.
Adolph Schwarzenberg-Frauenberg (nicht Schwarzenebrg-Worlik) wurde in Frauenberg in Böhmen 1890 als ältester Sohn von Johann Schwarzenberg geboren. Er promovierte an der tschechischen Karls Universität in Prag 1914 zum Dokter der Rechte und diente als tschechoslowakischer Bürger in der tschechoslowakischen Armee.
Juli 1947 das Sondergesetz 143/1947 coll., welches später als die “Lex Schwarzenberg” bekannt werden sollte, um dem Staat das betriebliche Eigentum des Adolph Schwarzenberg zu sichern, ohne hierfür ein Begründung zu nennen, noch eine Entschädigung anzubieten. Dieses Gesetz wurde von Präsident Benes am 10.07.1947 unterzeichnet.

They never returned to Czechoslovakia because he was informed that his property would very soon be expropriated and nationalised because of the communist and socialist development.
Adolph Schwarzenberg was a notable landowner, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was the eldest son of Johann and Therese Schwarzenberg, née Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg. An outspoken opponent of the Nazi regime, his properties were seized by the German Reich and by Third Czechoslovak Republic shortly before the Communist coup of 1948.
Adolph Schwarzenberg (1890 - 1950) was a descendent of the Hluboka branch of the aristocratic Schwarzenberg family. His family mainly owned property in South Bohemia and contributed for hundreds of years to the general cultural and economic development of the region.
The restitution concerns her grandfather Adolph Schwarzenberg’s property confiscated by the Gestapo in 1940 and since 1945 held by the Czechoslovak, and later the Czech state, in violation of the law and the constitution. In order to properly devote herself to the issue, Elisabeth acquired Czech citizenship and moved to Prague in 1993.
