14 April 1797. Adolphe Marie Joseph Louis Thiers was born in Marseille. After completing his studies at a secondary school in Marseille and then a university in Aix-en-Provence, where he obtained a degree in Law, he became a lawyer. 1821. He moved to Paris where he tried his hand at journalism in the columns of the newspaper, Le Constitutionnel.
