The group’s third album, Secret Treaties in 1974 was the first to receive positive mainstream critical acclaim and launched the band into headlining status for the first time in their major label career.

Emerging punk poetess Patti Smith (and Lanier’s girlfriend for a time) contributes lyrics and vocals to “The Revenge of Vera Gemini.” Demos (including one for “Reaper”) and an early version of “Fire of Unknown Origin” are added to the expanded edition.
21 de oct. de 2019 · Roaring Rock. Blue Öyster Cult deserves praise for the huge risk they took with Agents of Fortune. It retained the dark, spooky and somewhat mysterious vibe of their past recordings but in more ways than one, it was startlingly different from their original sound.
