Lady Ida Louise Bennet (mother) Admiral Sir Alexander Robert Maule Ramsay (29 May 1881 – 8 October 1972) was a Royal Navy officer. He was the husband of Princess Patricia of Connaught, the youngest child of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, third son of Queen Victoria. He served with distinction during the First World War.

He left the UPC somewhat unexpectedly late 2022, and now he’s back already: Alexander Ramsay, long-time chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Unified Patent Court, has been appointed as Registrar of the new court. This has been announced on the UPC’s website.

Two weeks ago, the Austrian parliament approved the Protocol for the Provisional Application of the UPC. Now, says Ramsay, the Europe-wide patent court could begin its preparation as soon as January 2022.
