29 de mar. de 2009 · ALLENE TEW, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 27, 2009, at her home. She worked at General Electric for 25 years and was also a member of Praise Lutheran Church.

20 de dic. de 2018 · Allene Tew was born in Wisconsin on 7 July 1872 as the daughter of banker Charles Henry Tew and Janet Smith. Allene was famously married five times and owes her claim to royalty by her fourth marriage to Prince Heinrich XXXIII Reuss of Köstritz. Her first marriage was to Theodore R. Hostetter with whom she had three children.

Allene Tew beleefde de ‘American Dream’. Zij trouwde jong met een excentrieke miljonairszoon en hertrouwde maar liefst vier keer. Ze werd dan ook wel 83 jaar. Maar stierf eenzaam aan de kust van de Franse Riviera. Annejet van der Zijl kwam deze bijzondere vrouw op het spoor door haar studie van het leven van Prins Bernard.
Allene Tew was a fascinating woman who lived back in the early 1900s. She was wealthy, but met with lots of tragedy in her life. She was married five times, once to a prince making her one of the first Americans to become an actual princess. This book tells the story of her live in an engaging way.

Born to a pioneering family in Upstate New York in the late 1800s, Allene Tew was beautiful, impetuous, and frustrated by the confines of her small hometown. At eighteen, she met Tod Hostetter at a local dance, having no idea that the mercurial charmer she would impulsively wed was heir to one of the wealthiest families in America.
