25 de abr. de 2024 · Charles P Taft. Early Biography. Charles Phelps Taft was born in Cincinnati, December 21st, 1843, and is the eldest son of Hon. Alphonso Taft. He prepared for college at Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts, entered Yale Law School in 1860, and graduated in 1864.

President Taft's son Robert Alphonso ("Bob") Taft, known as "Mister Republican," represented Ohio in the Senate from 1939 to 1953.
