Amaury de Montfort (1242 or 1243 – 1301) was the third son of parliamentary pioneer Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, and Eleanor of England, daughter of King John. Amaury de Montfort was born between 1242 and 1243 as the third son of Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, and Eleanor of England, daughter of King John. He entered the priesthood at a young age, holding several ecclesiastical positions, including Treasurer of York Cathedral and canon in multiple cities.

Amauri began the building of Montfort, the castle which took its name for him, Montfort-l'Amaury, described as a "castrum" at Yvelines, Île-de-France. Amauri died circa 1053.
Amaury de Montfort, Lord of Montfort-l'Amaury, (1192 [1] – 1241) was the son of Simon de Montfort, 5th Earl of Leicester and Alix de Montmorency, [2] and the older brother of Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester. Amaury inherited his father's French properties while his brother Simon inherited the English title of Earl of Leicester.
In April 1242, she attended the king’s council in Chinon together with her sister-in-law Amicia de Montfort, Countess of Joigny 46, and she died some time after 1248, on September 17 47. Jean would go on crusade under Louis IX and die on Cyprus in the winter of 1248/1249, leaving an only daughter, also named Béatrix.
