Ampleforth College is a thriving institution, and the close relationship between the monastery and the school provides an education that goes beyond the high standards of instruction to provide boys and girls with a spiritual guide for life. Ampleforth college was founded in 1802 by Benedictine monks from Ampleforth Abbey.

On our return from the uplifting and moving Ampleforth Carol service at Corpus Christi, Covent Garden, the spirit and pluck of Ampleforth was epitomised by the Schola who sang carols to keep up the spirits of passengers stuck on the train for hours by damage to overhead cables. A video clip has gone viral (over 80,000 views to date!)
Ampleforth College is a Catholic, Benedictine boarding and day school situated in a beautiful valley below the North York Moors. The 2000 acre college campus encompasses many traditional buildings, with the abbey and church being the spiritual core, alongside some more modern architecture, most recently St Alban’s Sports Centre.
