15 de abr. de 2024 · Wallace laid siege to Dundee but abandoned it to oppose, with Andrew de Moray, an English army that was advancing toward Stirling under John de Warenne, earl of Surrey. Surrey failed to bring Wallace to terms outside Stirling, and, on the morning of September 11, 1297, the English began to file across the narrow bridge over the Forth.

Each year in May we rally at Ormond Hill, Avoch in the Black Isle where a new Saltire is hoisted on the flagpole on the cairn which we built and was first unveiled in 1997.

Hace 6 días · Sir Andrew de Moray was Wallace's partner in military options and one of his best friends. He died a week after the battle of Stirling Bridge from wounds obtained there. Wallace never again won a major battle.
