Her birth date is not recorded; various accounts use anywhere from 1504 to 1509, [3] but it is generally estimated around 1508. [1]

On 17 August 1657, he married Mary Capell , who was the daughter of Arthur Capell, 1st Baron Capell of Hadham , sister of Arthur Capell, 1st Earl of Essex , and widow of Henry Seymour, Lord Beauchamp .
