Margaret (or Mary) Jerningham, who married Thomas Stanhope, esquire, of Rampton; they were the paternal grandparents of Anne Stanhope.

16 de abr. de 2024 · Born on 31 October 1598, Denzil Holles was the second surviving son of John Holles, 1st Earl of Clare (c. 1564–1637) and his wife Anne Stanhope (1576–1651).
20 de abr. de 2024 · He was the great-grandson of Anne Stanhope (1497-1587), the wife of Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset (c.1506-1552). He was knighted in 1605 by King James I and made Baron Stanhope of Shelford. He was made 1st Earl of Chesterfield in 1628 by King Charles I.
