Anne Boleyn (/ ˈ b ʊ l ɪ n, b ʊ ˈ l ɪ n /; c. 1501 or 1507 – 19 May 1536) was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536, as the second wife of King Henry VIII. The circumstances of her marriage and execution by beheading for treason, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that marked the start of the English Reformation .
Having endured ill health most of her life, Queen Anne died after suffering a stroke on Sunday 1st August 1714 at the age of 49. Queen Anne does not enjoy the same place in history as some other Queens of England, perhaps because she lacked the charisma of Elizabeth I, Mary I and Victoria, yet in her reign great deeds were done.

After succeeding on the throne, Anne almost immediately found herself involved in the War of the Spanish Succession. England supported Archduke Charles as the rightful heir to the Spanish throne. The conflict lasted for most of Anne’s reign.

Anne of Cleves (German: Anna von Kleve; 1515 – 16 July 1557) was Queen of England from 6 January to 12 July 1540 as the fourth wife of King Henry VIII. Not much is known about Anne before 1527, when she became betrothed to Francis, Duke of Bar , son and heir of Antoine, Duke of Lorraine , although their marriage did not proceed.
