Por todos estos motivos, considero necesario estudiar la figura de María Antonia de Nápoles e Isabel de Braganza. En principio, la primera esposa de Fernando VII, que falleció como princesa de Asturias (1802-1806) sin haber podido ser madre (un par de abortos se lo impidieron) ni reina, puede parecer un personaje anecdótico13.
