Helena of Austria (German: Helena von Österreich; 7 January 1543 – 5 March 1574) was a co-founder of the Ladies' Convent of Hall (Haller Damenstift), born an archduchess of Austria from the House of Habsburg as the daughter of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor.
Archduchess of Helen of Austria is one of those women of whom we know very little. She was born on 7 January 1543 as the second youngest child of Anne of Bohemia and Hungary and the future Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor. She was born in Vienna or possibly in Innsbruck 1 and was baptised later that evening. 2.

Her father collected some of the family's personal items, such as the first pair of shoes worn by each of his children. Among these keepsakes was a poem written for him by a young Gisela one Christmas; the poem was said to be the most treasured item among this collection. Archduchess Gisela was also known to paint in her later years.

Gisela and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1923. Her husband died in 1930; Gisela only survived him by two years. She died aged 76 in Munich on 27 July 1932, and is buried next to Prince Leopold in the Colombarium at the St.Michaelskirche, Munich.

Archduchess Helena of Austria was born in Vienna in the Archduchy of Austria on 16 February 1536 as the fourteenth child and tenth daughter of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor (1503–1564) and his wife, born Princess Anna of Bohemia and Hungary (1503–1547). She had a strict, religious upbringing with a heavy influence from Jesuits.
