Der mächtige dreigeschoßige (zur Augustinerstraße fünfgeschoßige) Komplex erhebt sich über der Albrechtsrampe, einem nach Schleifung der Stadtbefestigung 1864–1869 erhaltenen Teil der Stadtmauer.
