Sinai. Lieutenant-General Sir Archibald Murray, commander of the newly formed Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), now decided to push the Turks out of the Sinai peninsula. After two battles at Gaza and 10,000 casualties, British High Command removed Archibald Murray as commander of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), replacing him with Edmund Allenby, who had recently been promoted to General.
