Axel, Count Oxenstierna, (born June 16, 1583, Fånö, near Uppsala, Swed.—died Aug. 28, 1654, Stockholm), Swedish statesman. Born into a noble family, he became a member of the council of state and in 1612 was appointed chancellor by Gustav II Adolf. He worked with the king to stabilize administrative reforms.

Axel Oxenstierna ( [ˈǎksɛl ˈʊ̂ksɛnˌɧæːɳa] ( lyssna) ), född 16 juni 1583 på Fånö gods i Löts socken, Uppland, död 28 augusti 1654 i Stockholm, var en svensk greve och statsman. Han blev medlem av riksrådet 1609 och utsågs till rikskansler 1612, och han blev i praktiken regent 1632 då drottning Kristina var omyndig.
