Sigismund I (în poloneză Zygmunt I Stary, în trad. Sigismund I cel Bătrân) (n. 1 ianuarie 1467 în Kozienice - d. 1 aprilie 1548 în Cracovia) a fost rege al Poloniei ( Uniunea statală polono-lituaniană) în 1506 - 1548. A făcut parte din dinastia Iagielonilor.

Barbara was the daughter of Casimir IV Jagiellon and his wife Elizabeth of Austria and Bohemia. Her paternal grandparents were Jogaila and his fourth wife Sophia of Halshany.
Anna Jagiellon (Polish: Anna Jagiellonka, Lithuanian: Ona Jogailaitė; 18 October 1523 – 9 September 1596) was Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania from 1575 to 1587. Daughter of Polish King Sigismund I the Old and Italian duchess Bona Sforza , Anna received multiple proposals, but remained unmarried until the age of 52.
Sigismund, who took over the reign after his father's death in 1548, overcame the resistance and had Barbara crowned in 1550; a few months later the new queen died.
