What the school says... Founded in 1923, Benenden is a fully boarding school for 550 girls aged 11-18. Set in a beautiful rural position, the school has 224 acreas of parkland. There are 190 students in the Sixth Form. The average class size is 16, with a teacher pupil ratio of 1:7. Usual ages for entry are 11, 13 and 16.
Our Admissions team will support you and your daughter through the process of joining Benenden. We encourage prospective families to visit us as many times as you wish, through open days, personal visits and to join us at school-wide events.
Normal entry is in September at 11+, 12+ or 13+, as a result of the ISEB Common Pre-test or through Benenden's own Entrance or Scholarship examinations. In addition, there is also a small 14+ and 16+ competitive entry into Year 10 and the Sixth Form.

KCYO is for orchestral players aged 13 to 21 who play at grade 7 level or higher. Their summer course this year will take place at Benenden School during the first week of August. With the opening of the new music facilities and concert hall at Benenden School, we hope 2022 will see our county groups performing to a wider audience this summer.
