He was Prime Minister of Bulgaria during World War II. During his service, Bulgaria became the seventh nation to join the Axis Powers.

От 1907 до 1909 г. специализира в Бон, Париж и Рим музейно дело, археология и нумизматика. Той първи осъществява методични археологически разкопки през 1909 - 1910 г. в Хисаря.
