Borena of Alania. Queen Borena. Borena ( Georgian: ბორენა) was a sister of the Alan king Durgulel "the Great", and the Queen consort of Georgia, as the second wife of Bagrat IV (r. 1027–1072). [1] [2] The medieval Georgian historical tradition provides little information about Borena.

29 de ene. de 2018 · George had married Burdukhan of Alania in 1155, and they had two daughters together. In 1177, several nobles rose up in favour of the now-adult Prince Demna. The rebellion was crushed, and Demna was blinded and castrated. The next year, George appointed his eldest daughter Tamar as his successor.
Maria was born the princess Mart'a, daughter of Bagrat IV, king of Georgia, and his second wife Borena. Bagrat succeeded his father on the Georgian throne in 1027 and ruled down to 1072. Maria's mother, Borena, was the sister of Dorgholeli, the ruler of Ovset'i (Alania) in northern Caucasia.
