Animal welfare activist Brian Davies, who founded IFAW, died on 27 December 2022 at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to help countless animals around the world into the future.
Brian Davies was born on 15 November 1938 in Rhondda Valley, Wales, UK. He is an actor, known for American Gigolo (1980), Convoy (1978) and The Age of Innocence (1993). He has been married to Erika Slezak since 4 August 1978. They have two children.

He is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy , Fordham University (since 1995), and author of An Introduction to the Philosophy of Religion , now in its fourth English edition, which has been translated into five languages.
