I love that you describe yourself as a Smile Sessions Enjoyer, and list the timestamps of your favorite section. I also am on the spectrum. BTW, the back half of "Cabinessence: Session Highlights" is so gorgeous. I love how full and warm Smile Sessions is.

Hace 2 días · Any other considerations are just individual tastes and preferences. If Smile had been finished at the time, it would indeed be an alltime classic. Pepper isn’t perfect, in everyone’s opinions. Here’s a list of various published “best album” (etc etc) lists which include Pepper. Only ten lists place it at Number 1:
Hace 4 días · In 1969, "Cabin Essence" (retitled "Cabinessence") and "Prayer" (retitled "Our Prayer") appeared on the band's album 20/20, with additional vocals that were recorded by Carl, Dennis, and Johnston in November 1968.
C6H12O6 Senior Member. Location: My lab. Prefer Good Vibrations. Early stuff is too bright though, with EQ similar to Rhino's mastering, but less so when you get to the Today -era (when it's only a touch too bright for my tastes).
14 de abr. de 2024 · The PS backing tracks are superb and a perfect example of the genius that is Brian Wilson. However I think the SMiLE backing tracks are even better and remarkably different from those recorded for PS just a short time before.
28 de abr. de 2024 · Cabinessence. Just love the banjo and the accordian stuff. "Who ran the iron horse" and "Over and over, the crow cries uncover the corn field" pop into my head all the time.
