Carl Johan Arthur, Prince Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg, KmstkNO (31 October 1916 – 5 May 2012) was the fourth son and fifth and youngest child of King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden and his first wife, Princess Margaret of Connaught.

5 de may. de 2012 · Count Carl Johan Bernadotte, 1916–2012. Carl Johan Arthur Bernadotte of Wisborg was born in October 1916 at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. He was the youngest son of Crown Prince Gustaf (VI) Adolf and Margareta of Great Britain. Prince Carl Johan was Duke of Dalarna until 1946.
As the Crown Prince of Sweden, he assumed the name Charles John (Swedish: Karl Johan) and acted as regent for the remainder of Charles XIII's reign. In 1813, he broke with Napoleon and led Sweden into the anti-Napoleon alliance .

However, when his father died he broke off his studies and joined the army as a non-commissioned officer. He became known for his courage and leadership and during the French revolution he rose rapidly through the ranks.
