Hace 4 días · Carlo Maria Buonaparte (born March 29, 1746, Ajaccio, Corsica—died Feb. 24, 1785, Montpellier, Fr.) was the father of Napoleon I. Buonaparte took a law degree at the University of Pisa and, after the French conquest of Corsica in 1769, became assessor to the royal court for Ajaccio and the neighbouring districts.

Hace 2 días · Carlo Buonaparte joined Paoli’s party, but, when Paoli had to flee, Buonaparte came to terms with the French. Winning the protection of the governor of Corsica, he was appointed assessor for the judicial district of Ajaccio in 1771. In 1778 he obtained the admission of his two eldest sons, Joseph and Napoleon, to the Collège d’Autun.
