Carlo Rubbia ( Gorizia, 31 de marzo de 1934) es un físico y profesor universitario italiano galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Física del año 1984. Biografía. Nació el 31 de marzo de 1934 en la ciudad italiana de Gorizia, situada en la región de Friuli-Venecia Julia. En 1957 se licenció en física en la Escuela Superior Normal de Pisa.

In 1984, Rubbia shared the Nobel prize in physics with Simon van der Meer "for their decisive contributions to the large project, which led to the discovery of the field particles W and Z, communicators of weak interaction".
