15 de oct. de 2021 · Clifden Castle. Clifden Castle is a ruin on the Wild Atlantic Way in Galway. Only built in the 19th century, it quickly fell into ruin as the famine hit Ireland in the 1840’s. Both the landlord and his tenants were devastated. The tenants gathered in the castle lawn looking for food, but sadly there was none to give.
The castle describes itself as "the world's most haunted castle". This castle was featured on the cover of several editions of the novel The Riders by Tim Winton. In 1996, Leap Castle's history and hauntings were examined in Castle Ghosts of Ireland by Robert Hardy.
