Many reported ghosts haunt Glamis Castle, however, it’s widely believed that there are at least nine ghosts in total that call the castle home. How accurate this spectral headcount is is open for debate of course. What’s for sure however is the fact Glamis Castle is considered one of the most haunted places in Scotland.
Castles and ghosts go hand in hand. There can’t be many in Scotland that don’t feature some kind of spectral figure from the past. Crathes Castle in Aberdeenshire is lucky enough to feature both a White and a Green Lady ghost. Crathes was built on land gifted to the Burnett family by Robert the Bruce in 1323.

The castle also played host of the setting of a children's gameshow on CBBC called Spook Squad in 2004. 2009 saw the publication of the children's fantasy novel, The Time-Tailor and the Fyvie Castle Witch Trials, written by Deborah Leslie. Ghosts of Carbisdale Room 218, originally the nursery or schoolroom, is known as the “Spook Room” and has been the spot of the majority of ghost sightings.
