One of the most haunted castles in Scotland, is Glamis Castle in Angus, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and ancestral seat of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorn. With no less than 9 ghosts, Glamis Castle is one of Scotland’s most haunted castles and is a busy place even when the family are away!
Many reported ghosts haunt Glamis Castle, however, it’s widely believed that there are at least nine ghosts in total that call the castle home. How accurate this spectral headcount is is open for debate of course. What’s for sure however is the fact Glamis Castle is considered one of the most haunted places in Scotland.

The castle also played host of the setting of a children's gameshow on CBBC called Spook Squad in 2004. 2009 saw the publication of the children's fantasy novel, The Time-Tailor and the Fyvie Castle Witch Trials, written by Deborah Leslie. The castle was also featured in BBC documentary, Castle Ghosts of Scotland, narrated by Robert Hardy.
Ghosts of Carbisdale Room 218, originally the nursery or schoolroom, is known as the “Spook Room” and has been the spot of the majority of ghost sightings.
