  4. 25 de feb. de 2023 · Catherine Sedley, Countess of Dorchester (1657-1717) was the mistress of King James II of England. Known for her wit, she was not considered a beauty. Catherine had a troubled childhood, and her mother was admitted to a psychiatric hospital when she was young. She began her affair with James while working for his wife, Mary of Modena.
