Catherine of the Palatinate was a member of the Wittelsbach family and a titular Countess Palatine of Simmern.
Catherine of the Palatinate. Princess and Duchess. Griffin Dynasty. By marriage became Countess Consort Palatine of Neumarkt. Year of birth may have been 1390. Catherine and her brother Eric the Pomeranian were the adopted children of their grandaunt Queen Margaret I the Great of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.

16/10/2018 · Catherine died in 1526, at the age of 26. She was buried in the abbey church of Neuburg. Her grave stone can be found on the north wall of the nave, opposite the monastery portal. It is made of red sandstone and is shows, in bas-relief, Catherine wearing a nun's habit, with the abbess's staff and a book in her hands and a lion at her feet.

She is known as the periodical foster-mother of Queen Christina of Sweden and the mother of Charles X of Sweden .
