Cecilia Lo is currently professor and chair of the Department of Developmental Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her BS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her PhD from the Rockefeller University, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Cecilia Lo is currently Distingished Professor of Developmental Biology, and F. Sargent Cheever Chair and Chair of the Department of Developmental Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Lo has had a longstanding interest in cardiovascular development and the genetic etiology of congenital heart disease.
The Chief of the Laboratory is Dr. Cecilia Lo. The long term mission of the Laboratory is to elucidate the complex etiology of congenital cardiovascular diseases. The Laboratory is presently comprised of three sections: Congenital Heart Disease Section , Developmental Glycobiology Section , and Stem Cell and Neuro-Vascular Patterning Section .
