Charles Beauclerk, 2nd Duke of St Albans, KG KB (6 April 1696 – 27 July 1751) was a British politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1718 until 1726 when he succeeded to a peerage as Duke of St Albans. He was an illegitimate grandson of King Charles II.

Hace 5 días · Charles Beauclerk, 2nd Duke of St Albans. He was born on 6th April 1696 and succeeded his father Charles as Duke. He was governor of Windsor Castle, Lord Warden of the Forests, and Master Falconer of England among other offices.
After two years he returned to England on what was supposed to be a short visit over Christmas in 1683 but, in January, Charles II finally made the decision to elevate him to the top of the peerage, and he was created Duke of St Albans.
Born: 8th May 1670. at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Westminster, Middlesex. Duke of St. Albans. Died: 10th May 1726 at Bath, Somerset. Charles was named after his father, King Charles II. He was born in the house of his mother, Nell Gwynne, in Lincoln's Inn Fields on 8th May 1670.
