Robert, 1st Earl of Plymouth (1857–1923), and his family are buried here. The first creation was in 1675 for Charles FitzCharles, one of the dozens of illegitimate children of King Charles II and one of a few by his mistress Catherine Pegge. He died without heirs in 1680, and the title became extinct.

Charles FitzCharles, 1st Earl of Plymouth was born in 1657 illegitimately.1 He was the son of Charles II Stuart, King of Great Britain and Catherine Pegge. He married Lady Bridget Osborne, daughter of Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds and Lady Bridget Bertie, on 12 September 1678 at Wimbledon, London, England.2 He died on 17 October 1680 at Tangier, Morocco, without issue.2
Charles FitzCharles, 1st Earl of Plymouth, was the illegitimate son of King Charles II of England and Catherine Pegge. He had a sister, Catherine, who is believed to have become a nun. His mother went on to marry Sir Edward Greene of Samford in Essex, and had one child, Justinia Greene. His subsidiary titles were Viscount Totness and Baron Dartmouth.
On 6 December 1682, Windsor was created the first Earl of Plymouth, a new creation with the previous title holder having been Charles II's natural son Charles FitzCharles, 1st Earl of Plymouth (1675–1680). He was succeeded by his grandson Other Windsor (his curious first name is a variant of Otho, a remote ancestor). Family
Charles Palmer, later Charles FitzRoy, 2nd Duke of Cleveland, 1st Duke of Southampton, KG, Chief Butler of England (18 June 1662 – 9 September 1730), styled Baron Limerick before 1670 and Earl of Southampton between 1670 and 1675 and known as The Duke of Southampton from 1675 until 1709 when he succeeded his mother to the dukedom of Cleveland.
