General Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond, 4th Duke of Lennox, 4th Duke of Aubigny, KG, PC (9 December 1764 – 28 August 1819) was a British peer, soldier, politician and Governor-General of British North America .

He was made lieutenant-general in 1805 and general on 1 June 1814. In 1790 Lennox had been elected to his father’s seat of Sussex in the House of Commons, and he was re-elected in 1796, 1802, and 1806. He succeeded to the dukedom of Richmond and Lennox on the death of his uncle on 29 Dec. 1806.
The fourth creation of the dukedom of Richmond was in August 1675, when Charles II granted the title to Charles Lennox, his illegitimate son by Louise de Keroualle, Duchess of Portsmouth. Charles Lennox was further created Duke of Lennox a month later.

Lennox, Charles (1764–1819), 4th duke of Richmond and 4th duke of Lennox , lord lieutenant of Ireland, was born 9 September 1764, the eldest son of Lord George Henry Lennox, a general, and his wife, Lady Louisa Lennox Kerr, daughter of the 4th marquess of Lothian; he was apparently born in a barn in Scotland when his mother was on a fishing trip.

After an undistinguished career in the British army, he sat as an MP in the British House of Commons 1790-1806 until he inherited the dukedom of Richmond.
Charles Lennox, the 4th Duke of Richmond, was Governor-in-Chief of British North America from 1818-1819. His death in Richmond (Upper Canada) is usually attributed to rabies contracted from a tame fox that he had encountered two months prior to his death.
