The bulk of the RIBA’s holdings were deposited with the Institute in 1941 by his son, Charles Cowles-Voysey, and he transferred ownership of them to the RIBA shortly before his death in 1980. This acquisition, principally drawings, includes some 800 designs covering the entire range of his output, including houses, furniture, fabrics and wallpapers, metalwork, tiles and needlework.

About C.F.A. Voysey. Charles Francis Annesley Voysey was an English architect and furniture and textile designer. His early work was as a designer of wallpapers, fabrics, patterns and furnishings in a simple Arts and Crafts style. You will find influences from his life, design and art throughout the Voysey space.
Enlarged in 1900 when two wings were added. W porch 1982. The original main entrance was on the S side. The older part is Voysey’s first country house, but his hallmark style is already fully developed. Roughcast, with varied fronts, decorative buttresses with much batter, a big, comfortable roof, and horizontal windows in the Jacobean tradition.

Seddon y George Devey respectivamente, en 1882 Charles Francis Annesley Voysey (1857-1941) funda su propia oficina. Aunque está influido por Art and Crafts, sigue un estilo propio menos orientado al pasado y más funcional que ornamental.
