In 1860 he married Sarah Charlotte, daughter of Major-general Sir Charles Bruce, K.C.B. Lady Campbell-Bannerman died at Marienbad on 30 Aug. 1906, without issue. She was a woman of great spirit and/Of fine feeling and discernment, was the constant companion of her husband, and shared all his interests.
Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman led the Liberal Party to its greatest political victory in the 1906 election and he set the scene for the reforms of the last Liberal government. His Cabinet included three future Prime Ministers: H.H. Asquith, David Lloyd George, and Winston Churchill.
