Del Villar's father and mother were born in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico respectively. His father boxed as a heavyweightbefore becoming an attorney. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree and went on to accept a scholarship to attend law schoolbefore dropping out to focus on music.
