Christiaan HUYGENS [kristian hojĥens] ( listen) (naskiĝis en Hago la 14-an de aprilo 1629, mortis la 8-an de julio 1695) estis nederlanda matematikisto, fizikisto kaj astronomo. Huygens naskiĝis kiel filo de Constantijn Huygens , kiu estis lingvospertulo, diplomato, komponisto kaj tiam elstara poeto de Nederlando.

Christiaan Huygens nació en 1629 en La Haya, hijo de Constantin Huygens, una de las más importantes figuras del renacimiento en Holanda. Educado en la universidad de Leyden, Christian fue un amigo cercano de René Descartes, un invitado frecuente al hogar del científico holandés.
