Christian August (1673 - 1726) Duke of Holstein-Gottorp-Eutin from in 1695, Prince Regent of Eutin, Prince-bishop of Lubeck from 1701 and Regent of the Duchy of Holstein-Gottorp from 1702 to 1708. Younger son of Christian Albrecht (1641-1695) Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp.
Joanna Elisabeth of Holstein-Gottorp. Christian August, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst ( Dornburg, 29 November 1690 – Zerbst, 16 March 1747) was a German prince of the House of Ascania. He was a ruler of the Principality of Anhalt-Dornburg, then, from 1742, a ruler of the entire Principality of Anhalt-Zerbst.
Christian August von Holstein-Gottorp was born on January 11, 1673 in Gottorp, son of Christian Albrecht Herzog von Holstein-Gottorp and Frederike Amalia of Denmark. His elder brother, Frederick IV, succeeded their father as ruler of the duchy, Christian August being given the small fiefdom of Eutin in 1695, whereupon he took the title Duke of Holstein-Eutin. Additionally, he was appointed coadjutor of Lübeck , a Lutheran Imperial state within the Holy Roman Empire , in 1701, and his family managed to have him elected as the bishop on 26 April 1706.
